- Games are played on weekends to allow players to attend school and work commitments.
- The League offers an extended year of Junior hockey as compared to other junior leagues.
- Teams can offer reduced cost on purchases of sticks and skates.
- The NCJHL offers the least expensive pay to play program in any Junior League in Canada.
- Safety is the prime interest promoted by the NCJHL.
