One of our NCJHL players – #18 Vincent Martel – was selected as the 2016 recipient of the HEO $1,000 bursary. The 2015-2016 hockey season was Vincent's first in the National Capital Junior Hockey League and with the Rockland Nationals.

During the hockey season, Vincent was also a minor hockey official (referee) for players in the GHA. He also volunteered as an assistant coach for his high school's Junior Boys volleyball team.

He has now graduated from high school and is looking forward to fulfilling his career aspirations in the legal field. He has been accepted into the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.
